I tell ya, this month flew by lickety-split for yours truly here. But I couldn’t let it close without delivering my next “These Are a Few of My Favorite Things” to you!
I hope this month’s list will help usher you into the changing seasons–or at least give you a few ideas to celebrate the season through new recipes to cook, books to read, or other items to enjoy! So, onward and upward into some favorites from this last month!
These Are a Few of my Favorite Things
Shipt: Every whipstitch, when our schedule is crazy cakes, I order groceries through Shipt that are later delivered right to my front porch. Without a doubt, it’s a handy thing to have in my back pocket! For example, when our daughter came down with a virus about 10 min after we dropped her off at school this August, I ordered her soup, crackers, gatorade, etc. from her local grocery store. It’s a blessing for sure!
Sweet & Spicy Tea: I talked about this a few years ago, but it’s worth mentioning again. Full of sweet orange and spicy cinnamon, this tasty tea will gently usher you into the flavors of fall and winter! Bonus: You won’t miss the sugar if you leave it out.
The Cook’s Book Cookbook by Bri McKoy: I call Bri my “Favorite Fall Food Friend” because I love her cozy recipes. So, naturally, when she released this cookbook this month, I had to get it. Truly, her recipes never let me down. So far, I’ve made Bri’s “Cold Weather Chili” and her “Sweet Potato Shepherd’s Pie,” and my husband and I declared them both winners! Next up: Her Harvest Chili (aka Pumpkin Chili)! That recipe is in the cookbook, too!
Silk Pumpkin Spice Almond Milk Creamer: If you don’t mind almond milk creamer, this one sings of fall in a subtle way!
Made for Friendship by Drew Hunter: This book is MAGNIFICENT, y’all. Magnificent!!
Pioneer Woman’s Peach Whiskey BBQ Chicken: I made this last week, and while this recipe doesn’t call for cut peaches per se, I added some that a friend had gifted me. DELISH.
Rifle Paper Co. Laptop Sleeve: Recently, Rifle Paper Co. had a 25% off everything sale AND I happened to have an extra 25% off coupon from them. So, I bought myself this gorgeous laptop case as I needed one badly. I LOVE IT. This would make a wonderful Christmas/birthday gift for the writer or colorful-loving college student in your life!
Rifle Paper Co. + Keds Shoes: Am I a sucker for bright florals? Yes. Did I also use the aforementioned sale/coupon to buy these shoes? Yes. Full disclosure: I bought these, too. Listen, I have ocean liner feet–very narrow size 11’s. Since Keds run narrow, these fit me well and look purdy to boot.
Teleties: Hands down, these are the best hair ties I’ve ever had. Plus, if you’re prone to wearing them on your wrist as I am, they don’t squeeze like other ties do. Faith and I are both big fans of these!
Curling Iron: My curling iron plumb died this past month, and I ordered this new one with the 1 1/4 inch barrel. It works beautifully and is at a good price point, too.

That’s all for this month ~ a very happy fall, y’all! May it hold cooler temps and just the right amount of pumpkin spice (or lack thereof) for you! xo
