Lean in close, folks. I’m about to tell you something that will either skyrocket or plummet your opinion of me.
Ready for it?
I love country music.
There. This classically-trained, music degree holding girl said it.
And half my college music professors just fell over dead.
Country music is not the only genre I love, but it’s one of my favorites. Go ahead and roll your eyes and call me uncultured or slap your Wrangler-covered knee and call me family. Either way, I am a forever fan. Give me some George Strait and Faith Hill and Keith Urban any day of the week. And just so you know I’m legit, I was country when country wasn’t cool. (Quick! Name that ’80′s country singer!)
Continue here to find out what country music can teach us all about creativity? {And yes, I’m totally serious.}
I just love that this post is up and out while I’m visiting family in my home state of Oklahoma, otherwise known as the birthplace of Reba, Garth, Vince, Carrie, Blake, and a slew of other country artists. (Woot!)
I will be back to blogging regularly after vacation. Much love to you, friends.

I have been a Country fan since the early 90’s. Just one day it clicked…I love it, it’s like coming home.

ha ha ha Had to laugh at this one! 🙂 Had to sing the song too, by Barbara Mandrell… 🙂 I grew up listening to country music. Early every morning my dad turned on the radio to sit and and listen to country music and have his coffee with. Over the years I turned to the rock music of my teens…Creedance, Beatles, 3 Dog Night, (showing my age!). Then of course back to country music! I too now love many kinds of music, opera and (wow) those tenors hit an emotional note with me every time, easty listening, and my ultimate favorite – Contemporary Christian. I find it to be the most uplifting and encouraging to me with my relationship with my God. But when I’m somewhere where country music is playing, my toes still tap and my mouth is a moving. 🙂 Since I am a grandma now, I’ve heard just about everything in the last 60 years…most of the music is pleasant to the ear, but please – just don’t make me listen to Rap!

Totally knew that was Barbara Mandrell. You have no idea how many Mickey Gilley, Conway Twitty and Statler Brothers concerts I’ve been to – but, give me tobyMac and Newsboys any day of the week! 😉 Opinion is still sky-high of you, lady!
