You won’t have to dive far into my book Girl Meets Change to realize I’m not one for pretending difficult change is something you just need to get over.
No, I believe difficult change is something you get through rather than get over. God gives us permission to feel all the feelings surrounding our change, and this is a necessary step that must be taken rather than avoided as you walk toward accepting it. God doesn’t hurry us but sits with us as we process the loss change brings.
Sometimes, God works this out through others willing to sit with us, too. Because seasons of hard change are not for pulling off alone, keeping company with only yourself. Soldiering through your transition alone is like fighting a shadow that looms twice as big in front of you. Without someone with whom you can share your feelings about this season of your life, that lonely space feels even bigger than it is.
No matter a woman’s season of change, it matters that she has people to walk through the season with her.
In that spirit, I want to offer you the Girl Meets Change Small Group Companion Guide, and I want to offer it to you for FREE.
How to get your small group companion guide: Simply purchase Girl Meets Change anywhere books are sold before September 30th. Send an email with your proof of purchase (i.e. a photo of your receipt) to girlmeetschange (at) gmail (dot) com, and we’ll send you the companion guide in pdf form ASAP. Easy and awesome, yes?
I’ve said before I want Girl Meets Change to be the place you gather hope at the crossroads of your anxiety about change and God’s purpose found in the midst of it. And it’s my prayer this companion guide helps you and your people release the anxiety and fear as you hold the hands of hope and faith.
One more note: If for whatever reason find yourself without nearby small group people or friends, I am first of all praying God brings dear, kind women into your life. And second, I firmly believe this companion guide will still bless you as you walk toward accepting and adapting your difficult change.
May God bless and keep you as you navigate the change in your life. Much love to you! xo

Kristen,
God has truly blessed me with a good covenant friend! For the past 1.5-2 years we have been there for each other! Neither of us liked our seasons, but we dealt with them through each other. It was hard on her(64-65) dealing with aging parents and seeing them at the end of life. Her mother passed on Thanksgiving day last year and her father went this past August. At the same time I was dealing with my aging father’s health issues. We could easily commiserate!!! So thankful God put us together!
Blessings 🙂

Thanks for sharing this! Though Im not able to get my hands on any of the tangible materials so relate to what you wrote…”I believe difficult change is something you get through rather than get over.” Wow, Amen. What an encouragement in this strange, hard “place” I am walking Through. But the picture God gave me was like pulling a slingshot back…the harder it is, the more pressures put upon me, rejection and disappointment…is like the further back the slingshot is pulled…Eventually it will push me further.
Love to you from Holland,
Jasmine

I love that analogy, Jasmine. Thanks so much for sharing!

Hey, I’m christina, I was also wondering about how to get the companion book now that I’ve purchased your actual book awhile back. I no longer have the tangible recept but it is possible that it shows up in my amazon account as books I’ve purchased. I could also take a picture of me holding my book while sitting out on my patio in my bathrobe where i read, if that would work hahaha!
