A Little Celebrating, a Lot of Gratitude

Exactly one week ago, y’all kindly and graciously welcomed this little book baby into the world. You held it and read it and encouraged your family and friends to do the same. It’s no small gift to have others not only share in your celebration, but also love that which you are celebrating so wholly and deeply. From the bottom of my heart, thank you. It’s been quite the fun week!

If you saw my instagram account last week, you know my husband kindly arranged a little surprise party last Tuesday in honor of the book’s release. I had to share the cake from it with you here. Isn’t it just magical with the book’s cover across the top?! I loved it so much. And with just the right sweet-but-not-too-sweet frosting to cake ratio, it tasted as good as it looked.

I was shocked my husband pulled off such a surprise as he isn’t one to go around planning parties. But after my daughter’s horseback riding lesson last Tuesday afternoon, she and I met David and the boys at one of my favorite local restaurants for dinner. After arriving home and pulling in the garage, I walk through the door to find this cake, balloons, champagne, and a small sprinkling of our dearest friends inside. It was the best treat ever.

A few days later, my friend Allison threw me a book launch party at a beautiful local gardens. I was rather nervous about this, mostly because I wondered if anyone would actually show up. BUT THEY DID. I will write more about this later, but for now I’ll just say I truly had an enjoyable time. I’m so, so thankful for Allison’s giving spirit that gifted me with such a marvelous evening.
