Ever Lovin’ Rest

 

I’m almost home from She Speaks when I step outside the airport, peer into the darkness, and grin when that blue gray swagger wagon sneaks up curbside. I open the van door, kiss my man, and squeeze my three jammy wearing babies as they yawn through sleepy greetings.

In just a few we are home sweet home, and I walk kids upstairs and tuck them in. When I get up off my daughter’s bed to leave, she grabs my arm tight, wraps it around her and says,

“Mama, just rest and be with me.”

I think that’s just about perfect, that same message He whispers into my heart,

“Kristen, just rest and be with Me.”

In repentance and rest is your salvation,

in quietness and trust is your strength…” Isaiah 30:15

So, I’m taking time to rest and be with Him and them. I’m playing chess {even though I lose every. single. time!}, coloring pictures, talking with a bestie, and generally lovin’ on those folks who’ve had less of me of late. And also? I’m taking time to see all the ways He continues lovin’ on me by counting my blessings…

936. Happily home with my favorite four.

937. David’s strong arm wrapped around and not letting go.

938. Tazo chai tea, which I *may* have missed more than my family. 😉

939. Coming home to a clean house when my furious packing left it a wreck.

940. Waking up early and finding dinner fixings in the crockpot. I fell in love with my man all over again. Amen.
