Hello and howdy, dearhearts! Due to all the summering I’ve been enjoying, it’s been a couple of months since I’ve written a “favorite things” article. Alas, I’ve got one for you now! But since we’re still knee-deep in summer and I’ve got cherry/blueberry cobbler waiting on me, I’m going to shorten the list’s explanations for why I included what I included. Just trust me that if I share it, it’s cuz I love it!
So with that, I bring you a few of my favorite things: the summer edition!
One Pot Lemon, Basil, Asparagus, and Sausage Pasta from Half-baked Harvest
Peach Cobbler from Pioneer Woman (My favorite cobbler recipe is actually from her A Year of Holidays cookbook, but this one is a good substitute! I made this with cherries and blueberries over the weekend for visiting friends. YUM.)
The Terminal List (Oh my word, the language. But OH MY WORD, THE TWISTS AND TURNS.🤯)
Ranch water (I’ve made it with various kinds of carbonated water, although the Topo Chico brand from the recipe is probably my favorite!)
The Changing Nest: A 12 Day Devotional for the Mom of the Graduate (The season of kiddos springing from the nest is upon us. If that’s a reality for your life stage–or the life stage of someone you know–then I wrote this for you and your loved one.)
Tea at the Miramont Castle (My good friend, Rebecca, recently took my daughter and me to tea there for our birthdays, and it was divine. If you’re local to Colorado Springs, I highly recommend it!)
Madewell Denim Shorts (Sooo many of their shorts are on sale now. AND currently as I write this, many of them are an extra 50% off with the code MAJOR.)
Shopping for dorm room essentials. (If you’re in the same boat, I’ve found some of the items suggestions from Sophie and Melanie’s Amazon store to be quite helpful!)
Summer Country Playlist (For me, summer sounds like country music. This playlist is by no means exhaustive, but it is a fun collective of old and new country faves. If you prefer more mellow instrumental summery pieces, you might like this playlist here.)
That’s all for today, dearhearts. Happy summering!
