Sometimes it happens just like the Bible teacher told us women a while back:
“Miracles take time.”
It’s a hard thing to accept in my fast paced, I-want-it-and-I-want-it-now world, but it’s true.
When you think you’re child has licked that problem but it rears it’s ugly head again, remember:
Miracles take time.
When you can’t see eye to eye with your husband on something and the same old argument opens the same old wounds, remember:
Miracles take time.
When that family member goes for the jugular and you brace yourself for the blow, remember:
Miracles take time.
When you’ve moved to a new town and crave just one cotton pickin’ local friend to share your heart with, remember:
Miracles take time.
“With God, one day is as good as a thousand years, a thousand years as a day. God isn’t late with his promise as some measure lateness. He is restraining himself on account of you, holding back the End because he doesn’t want anyone lost. He’s giving everyone space and time to change.” 2 Peter 3:8-9, the Message
Sweet gals, may this weekend find you not focusing on change in people, but focusing on Him who never does. The miracle may take time, but He holds time in His hands right along with your written name. He loves you so.

Oh Kristen – you’re speaking right into my heart. I’ve had your “Prayer for a Strong Willed child” open all week. Praying buckets over my middle boy. Such a hard week. And then despite all my prayer and pleading this week his teacher still called me aside this morning for “that talk.” And it’s hard not to feel defeated. So thank you thank you for this reminder!
Kristen says
Oh Friend, have I ever been there. I remember sweating bullets on the way to Mother’s Day Out wondering if I would be met with series eyes and a curt, “We need to talk about your son.” Always left those meetings feeling 2 inches tall.
Praying buckets over your boy, too, and his wise, fantastic, devoted, beautifully equipped Mama. It *will* get better. Tons o’ hugs and love to you, Friend…

He does *equip* us, doesn’t He? Always!

Oh, I needed this encouragement. It’s hard to allow time for miracles. I moved fairly recently and my husband changed jobs, so all those settling-in growing pains hit me hard sometimes. I’m starting to make friends and get plugged into volunteer circles in town, but it’s hard to feel like I’m only beginning to put down roots.
Kristen says
Amy, my heart feels for you. When we’ve moved, it has sometimes taken me over a year to feel settled in, plugged in, and rooted. It’s no small thing. Praying for you, Sister…

Thank you! 🙂

What a great post Kristen! I have just been thinking about this whole ‘instant gratification’ thing. What a beautiful thought… miracles take time. Thank you for the sweet reminder. 🙂
Kristen says
Thank you, sweet Jennifer!

Oh your post was delightful today, Kristen! This truth I need to cling to constantly…for so many reasons. So blessed to *know* you!
Kristen says
The feeling is mutual, Amy. 🙂

Beautiful post that applies to so many areas of life: one stitch at a time, one word at a time, one hug at a time, one meal at a time, one mile at a time (my husband and daughter are on the road this weekend), one prayer at a time…Lord bless you and your family!

You’ve done it again, Miss Kristen! Thanks for just the right word at just the right time. Because He IS working miracles- not coincidences or happenings. The best ALWAYS takes longer. I needed to remember that today.

Oh man alive, I heartily agree sister!! And I’d rather wait on it and HIM more than settling for anything less than His best for me, any day. As hard as it is in the different waiting rooms of life. The pain of making my own quick and easy way is never worth it! I may or may not have had personal experience with the self-imposed rush and consequences before. 😉 One of my faves…Wait on the LORD; Be of good courage, And He shall strengthen your heart; Wait, I say, on the LORD! -Ps. 27:14

So grateful to have stopped by and read this today, Kristen. I’m waiting on a miracle these days, and it sort of feels like it’s taking forever and a day. This offers me renewed encouragement — and on this particular day, it’s much-needed. Thanks for the reminder about all good things in time, and according to His timetable. Not mine.
Can’t wait to meet you in person soon!
