Well, it’s been a hot minute since I sent you a compilation of “These Are a Few of My Favorite Things!” Between my beloved mother-in-law passing away, getting the word out about my new book, and other goings on, it’s been A TIME. But I’m back!
Without further adieu, here’s my March 2025 “These Are a Few of My Favorite Things: A Hodge Podgy List!”
1. Easy Leftover Turkey (Chicken) Pot Pie: The recipe calls for turkey, but I used chicken. And let me tell you, the use of puff pastry means this is the EASIEST pot pie to make. A big hit at my house!

3. French Onion Meatball Skillet: I made this for my husband and I this week, and we both loved it! If you love French Onion Soup, this is or you.
4. Slow Cooker Chicken Noodle Soup: This recipe has been a cold weather staple in my house for years. It also tastes great if someone is sick and needs a little tummy lovin’.
5. Steve Madden Suitcase: When my daughter prepared to travel overseas in January, we realized that her suitcase situation wasn’t ideal. So, we purchased this one for her and she says it maneuvered beautifully. Here’s a link to a carry-on sized one too.
6. God, Can We Chat? A Darlingly Honest Guide to Growing Closer to God, One Doubt at a Time by Niki Hardy: I’ve known Niki for a long time, and she’s a deLIGHT. Niki hails from England, although she now lives in the US of A. And Niki has this new book releasing next week! I’ve not read the whole thing, but I read an excerpt and could hear her delightful English accent through and through. Of course, if you listen to the audiobook version, you can take in her charming way of speaking in full, glorious force!
Niki is a wise and winsome writer, I love this excerpt from Niki’s book:
“We’re often told our doubts are our faith’s kryptonite— didn’t Jesus admonish folks with little to no faith and praise the faith of others? But I’ve come to realize that doubts hold the potential to be faith’s superpower. When we lean into our questions and allow our doubts to lead us to Jesus, he reassures us that we see only in part (1 Cor. 13:12) and that God’s thoughts and ways are higher than ours (Isa. 55:8). Then, like great women and men of faith before us, doubting (far from being a swear word) becomes one of the most faith-building things we can do for ourselves.”
7. Bri McKoy’s Sweet Potatoes: Lord-a-mercy, I made these with a roast last week, and my husband, after taking a bite, said they were the best sweet potatoes he’s ever had. I love that this recipe is on the savory side rather than sweet. I’ll always be a fan of regular mashed potatoes, but these complimented the roast beautifully.
8. The Collection Texas: I’ve purchased 2 shirts from here, and I LOVE them both. As a bonus, they wash and wear beautifully.
9. Sharpie Pens: Some of the dearhearts I serve alongside on our women’s ministry team introduced me to this pen, and it is a WINNER! Love it.
10. Men’s Raincoat: If you are in the market for a raincoat for the fella in your life, my husband loves this one!
11. Whipped Tallow Balm: For a while I was getting ads on Instagram about the benefits of beef tallow for your skin. So, when Melanie Shankle mentioned that she’d tried this and loved it, I basically bought it then and there cuz my facial skin has felt rather reptilian lately. (thanks perimenopause!) While rubbing beef tallow on your face may sound a little weird, this stuff has really helped my dry patches to simmer down. Its whipped texture feels really good too!
That’s all for today, dearhearts–gosh, what a hodge-podgy list! 😀 Hopefully you found something useful here, and may you and yours have a delightful start to spring!
xo,
Kristen
