This pretty thing has been out and about for over two weeks now, and I'm mighty happy with how the Lord is using her to encourage folks already.⁠

My writing wingwoman @holleygerth recently released a beautiful devotional too, and it's called What Your Soul Needs for Stressful Times.⁠

And you know? (Of course you do!) Hard change + stress can certainly go hand in hand. ⁠Oh yes, ma'am. ⁠

I find myself having conversations with others about this more and more: It's well and good for me to extend the hand of friendship first, but I also need someone else to welcome and receive it.⁠

If a big change means you and I now find ourselves in a new group or environment, we can't be too afraid or too idle to put in the work of making friends. But if you and I are the ones settled into our place with our people, we can't be too afraid or too idle to welcome new folks in our circles too. ⁠

People like Cheryl, a woman who's cooked me many a 5 star meal and makes me laugh till my sides split.

Like Jen, who gives gold medal encouragement and introduced me to an encouraging Bible teacher named Beth Moore. ⁠

Like Rebecca, who's held my hand through a whole lotta change and knows a whole lotta secrets about me. ⁠

While #WhenChangeFindsYou is for everyone, I dedicated the book to these three women *and* to all military spouses—past, present, and future—submerged in change over and over again. They're generous, kind, and caring people, and they sacrifice and serve behind the scenes more than most folks will ever know. ⁠

Yes, failure may come after a change, but the failure isn't the end. Remember that God is not willy-nilly, aimless, or apathetic. He is purposeful, powerful, intentional, and faithful. He never fails to walk with you, and He will get you where you're supposed to be. ⁠
