A scaredy cat am I.
I joined facebook at least a year after most family and friends because the pressure to post something clever or witty or remotely interesting put me over the edge. And what if I wrote something stupid? Or lots of somethings stupid? Or wrote about my most favorite childhood character from a book and spelled her name Ann instead of Anne? {Oh wait…I actually did do that. Still flushed with humiliation}. I visualized all my “friends” rolling their eyes as they shook their heads saying, “Poor girl. Bless her heart.”
But my sisters insisted it was no big deal and if I’d just try it, I’d fall madly in love. So, I bit the bullet and signed up. And lo and behold, I didn’t die of embarrassment {Anne incident non-withstanding} and do find it pretty dang dandy.
So ya see? Sometimes I’m a big ol’ scaredy cat. Bigger things scare me too, like my husband’s possible year long absence. But God in the heavens tells me I can do anything through Christ who strengthens me, so I rest content knowing because of Him I am brave enough.
My friend Holley Gerth has a new, beautiful book releasing soon, and in honor of its heart swelling message she has prepared a super cute video. The darling ending will have you reaching for a tissue!

I can totally relate to the whole brave thing. Do you mind if I share a little bit of my story regarding braveness? Here it is…
A few months ago, my best friend told me that her family was moving across the country this summer…and sadly, she moved at the beginning of summer. When I first heard the news, I was devastated (and still am!), but I know that this is God’s plan for our life and for our friendship. I have a feeling that this is going to help me break out of my shell a little and make some new friends within my youth group and my school.
A total God thing happened when an opportunity arose to be on the student leadership team at my church this next school year. Honestly, I never would have considered applying for this position on the student leadership team if my best friend wasn’t moving. We are kind of attached at the hip and rarely hang out with people besides each other. In my youth group, I feel like I always hang out with the same kids, and i want to meet new people. I think it will be an awesome oppurtunity to meet new people and break out of my shell. Plus, it’s my senior year! What an awesome way to end my high school career!
And, I just found out I got accepted on the team! I am so scared about it, but so excited! And I hope that this is a good and brave decision!
