Weather Wimp and Summer Trip

I stare out the window and shake my head. We’ve lived where March and April bring ping pong winter-spring-winter-spring weather, but May has always been sure-fire warm spring. Except here. While I loved our Indian summer and warmish winter, I am no fan of May temps in the 30’s. There’s no doubt the weather in this high desert Colorado town keeps me guessing.

 

But now it is June, glorious June! And on this new day of a new month, this girl is starting vacation. Since moving from Hawaii to Colorado one year ago, our family has dealt with its share of changes. We have a new home in a new state with new jobs and new schools. And, obviously, tropical-island-to-high-desert new weather. While the transitions here have been smoother than any previous, still?

This girl and her favorite four need a vacation.

So, we are loadin’ up the swagger wagon and traipsing across ten states in two weeks. Sound like torture? We may agree by the end, but for now we are excited to road trip it and not just drive in circles island-style.

I will be checking in here and there, but for the most part I will be hanging with my favorite four, enjoying grandparents and cousins, visiting friends, and soaking up all the summer I can get.

Also, I’ll be visiting my fine first writing home and bringing some posts from there over here for you to read. And when I return to my mountain home in two weeks, I’ll announce a couple sweet surprises for you. Hot diggedy dog!
