I’ve always had a love affair with summer, and we started this summer over and down where the air hangs heavy with humidity and fragrance. I didn’t mind the heat one bit. Maybe it’s because spring took its sweet time to show up in my Colorado town, but I found the warm temps to be more of a comfy blanket than an oppressive hindrance.
Of course, the temps didn’t even hit 100, so I might be singing a different tune if they had.
Below is an appetizer sampling of some of the fun we’ve had over the last two weeks. While we traversed over 3000 miles covering 10 different states, the majority of our time was spent in our home state of Oklahoma.
Magnolias, how I’ve missed you!
Hoping for a good catch…
Meandering through breezy paths…
Four Wheeling…
Taking country walks with family…
Lovin’ on baby nieces…
Climbing one tall tree after another…
Obliterating targets in the form of cans, bottles, and clay pigeons…
And just hangin’ together alone…
Or with the whole fam in the backyard.
Wherever your summer takes you, I pray you enjoy some time together with your loved ones, time alone with the One who loves you, and some time off from the rigamarole of life. Happy Summer!
Looks like so much fun! I’ve always wanted to go on a trip to the country. Especially a road trip. I love visiting new places.
I love visiting new places and familiar ones, too. đ
few things make me feel more like home than walking down a gravel road. đ and just to be vain for a moment… i love your hair color!
Oh, YAY! Gitz came over to my place! YAHOO! đ Oh sweet girl, I’m praying we get to do some gravel road travelin’ together. If not on earth, then in heaven. Someday!
And thank you for the hair comment. I am admittedly just a weeee bit hair vain, so I appreciate that. Hopefully you still like me. đ
Much love to you, Dearie!
Love this Beautiful Sister! Such a fun visit!!
