While our summer break hasn’t been completely smooth sailing, the Strong kids have been getting along like a dream. That is, ’til this week when a thunderstorm of sibling squabbling descended on our household. And as is always the case, it wore out its welcome in no time.
So after getting push-back when I asked two of my three to apologize to one another, I let out the following words in short, staccato notes,
“Now listen. You can either happily do what I asked or unhappily do what I asked. But you will do it and you will do it NOW.”
Rest assured my kind and patient Sunday School voice was lost at sea.
They followed through most unhappily – their voices and arms obeying but their hearts a million miles away. So I fervently pray their hearts catch up to their good choices.
