Some things are better live and (in) color.
I don’t want to just watch the Food Network create love for the taste buds, I want to taste good eats myself.
I don’t want to just see pictures of beautiful places, I want to get lost in these places myself.
I don’t want to just visit other people through email and comment boxes, I want to spend time with them in real life.

Talking, laughing and playing together brings color to black-n-white life. It’s finding something you missed and didn’t know you needed.
Yes, the (in)courage writers did all this and more this past weekend on the stunning Hilton Head Island in South Carolina. But smack dab in the middle of our conversations were ideas for helping you do this, too. Ways we can encourage you to bring the beach house to your neck of the woods.
Even as the newest (in)courage contributor, I saw firsthand how (in)courage’s heart beats for the community at large. That means you, Sister. Uniquely spectacular, always cherished, and downright adorable YOU! So with you on our hearts and minds, (in)courage launched (in)RL, a set date and time for (in)courage sisters all over the world to meet in the space most suitable for you and your local posse.
The best part of (in)RL? No conference fees. Or airline purchases. Or jumping through hoops for childcare. It comes to you and meets you right where you are.
Will you visit the (in)RL site and pray about attending or hosting a meet up? Joy comes when we get beyond the black and white written words and meet together through spoken words. After all, isn’t this what church is? Meeting together and encouraging one another in Jesus and for Jesus?
Some things are better live and (in) color.
In real life!
A big ol’ thank you to DaySpring and Hilton Head Island Chamber of Commerce for hosting the (in)courage bloggers this weekend. Resort Rentals of Hilton Head Island went above and beyond by donating beautiful beach front accommodations. DaySpring took care of all the incidentals and meals for each of the bloggers. If you and your family are dyin’ for a beach vacation, this is it. While this was my first visit to Hilton Head Island, I’ve lived in Hawaii and I can honestly say Hilton Head is every bit as lovely. And a whole. lot. cheaper. {Price wise, not classy wise! }. Sweet ‘n lovely Jessica Gardo from the Hilton Head Chamber made us feel like royalty with her amazing servant’s heart. Thanks so much, Jessica! And thank you to all my (in)courage sisters for making this new kid on the block feel happily at home. You are amazing grace!
And the winner of Emily’s fantastic Grace for the Good Girl is comment #19, Mollie @ momconformist. Congrats, Mollie! I will be in touch pronto! Thanks again to Emily’s publisher, Revell, for providing the book for the giveaway. And if you didn’t win, hop over to Holley’s place. She’s giving away 4 copies of Emily’s book!
Gorgeous pictures! I saw the announcement about IRL and I’m very excited.
Thank you, Amy! We’re excited right along with ya!
How exciting!!!! I enjoyed reading the blog posts from your fabulous weekend — wishing I could be there too! 🙂 I just can’t tell you how excited I am about the inRL conference — I really do wish I could hug each of you. This means so much for me! I just posted about it on my blog, and I’m hoping I hear back from others who would like to meet up.
Many blessings!
Melanie

(in)courage has done wonders for my life. I look forward to reading every day. These ladies are absolutely fabulous. They inspire me. I’ve always wanted to write, and reading other’s words encourages me…although I don’t feel as though I’m there yet! Maybe one day…with God’s guidance.
