You bet your boots I know what it is to pine away for something big. When you desperately want that big thing to be yours, a yes or no answer is straight up God’s provision. But sometimes? You find yourself daydreaming about owning a particular little thing, something you could get on your own {whether it’s good for you or not}. I’m talking about just such a thing at (in)courage today. And inquiring minds wanna know: What little thing do you want but don’t have because it’s just not met for you?

Kristen, I clicked over and read, and I’m back to tell you how perfect a post that was — in case you don’t see my comment over there. Wow, if you only knew. He reminds me daily, “I’m giving you today — now — relish it. Savor it. Enjoy it. Minister in it. Wait.” Thanks for reminding me of the blessing of the wait.

Laura, I did see your lovely comment and nodded my head up and down through the whole thing. Here’s to the gift of today! xo

Clever photo, pine away with a pinecone. Makes me wonder if there is a connection with the emotion and the tree? Mine is to get our piano repaired. It got damaged over several of our moves, and doesn’t ever seem to be allowance for it in our expenses. Yet. I miss hearing the kids play and being able to play myself (poorly). Seems a simple enough request, yet priorities (like rent and food…) take precedence. Lessons in contentment – never achieved, kind of like patience. “Lord, I learned that one already, don’t you remember?!” Thanks for the reminder, the comfort and encouragement.

Maureen, I cannot tell a lie: I didn’t even pick up on that correlation til you pointed it out to me! Ha!
And I forget, too, and need frequent reminding. You are not alone!
