Lately, I’ve been talking a good deal about the blessing of framily in our lives. However, I’m fully aware that quite often, folks feel like they don’t have any friends-like-family to name.
I’ve been there, more than once.
During desperate times as well as “regular life” times, I’ve wanted to have a friend interested in heart-to-heart talks. I’ve wanted to ask someone if an outfit looked okay on me. I’ve wanted to have a silly conversation about the royal family or a serious one about parenting. I’ve wanted reassurance that I wasn’t the hot mess I believed I was (I am!) most days. I’ve wanted to know I’m not alone in my relational struggles. I’ve wanted to invite people to a restaurant for Mexican food or into my home for cake, like that pictured above.
Yet, in those lonely times, I either couldn’t conjure up a name to invite, or if I could, their enthusiasm for joining me was…lacking.
We currently live in an unprecedented time of isolation, so if you’re feeling lonely right now, you’re far from alone in that. And that’s where this new book wants to meet you.
As the curator and compiler for this project, I’ve linked arms with more than 40 other word-wondrous writers to bring you Praying Through Loneliness: A 90-Day Devotional for Women.
