As you go about your day, I pray that sparkling joy finds you in unexpected places. If disappointment finds you, I pray you are able to let go of any expectations that contributed to it. I pray you are wakened to the Word in a whole new way and because of it find a new song in your soul. I pray you are able to see God greeting you at the threshold of every transition and change. And as you work and play, may you know that what you graciously and selflessly offer to your family and your friends is completely and totally enough.

What I’m Reading:
Breathing Room: Letting Go So You Can Fully Live by Leeana Tankersley: I normally read nonfiction rather slowly–I like to sip it rather than swig it. But the stories in Breathing Room were so compelling and the writing so gorgeous, I couldn’t help but drink up this book in long, refreshing gulps.
Leeana Tankersley is a military wife and mom to three children–two of them twins (so you know I automatically like her). Drawing on her experiences as a wife to a Navy SEAL, mama to littles, and a former resident of the Middle Eastern island country of Bahrain, Leeana tells a story of learning to give grace to herself and refusing to apologize for her own flawed humanity. She shows us how to not only do the same, but also how to see the beauty and the broad grace of Christ within the bleakest of environments. In Breathing Room, Leeana doesn’t offer easy answers but hard fought, thoughtful and engaging ones.
Leeana writes with glittering transparency and reading her book felt like sitting down with a longtime friend. Her refreshing honesty and personality give her writing a sassy side, which I adore (some of my best girlfriends are rather sassy). Whether you’re a military wife or not, a person prone to negative self talk or not, or someone in a season of transition or not, this book will speak to you and bless you endlessly.
What I’m Doing:
I have wanted to purchase a few of these scrumptious velvet beauties (and their cute, little sister acorns) for the last three or four years. I never did because, well, I just couldn’t justify the purchase. However, I’ve never been able to get them out of my mind–especially this time of year. And it’s my experience that if I keep coming back to something like this, then it’s probably okay to get a couple. Good gracious, I’m so happy I did. This weekend, I’m going to be finding a place of honor for these fall lovelies from LoveFeast Shop.
Who I’m Following:
Photos from Tsh’s instagram page.
Tsh Oxenreider and her family are taking a year long trip around the world. I KNOW…incredible, right?! They embarked on their journey just last month, and thus far they have visited China, Hong Kong, and Thailand. Her insta pics of sights and experiences across Asia have been a feast for my eyes, and it’s a real treat to see it all through hers. Follow along with Tsh’s travels here. (You can also connect with me on instagram here.)
Have a wonderful weekend, friends, and much love to each of you.

Hey, guess what book I started today? “Breathing Room.” Except I’m underlining in purple because it makes me happy.
