But if we are doing that every time we're with our friend, that's problematic as there's ideally some give-and-take with talking and listening from both people. If that's not happening, it might be getting in the way of a deeper friendship. ⁠

There's a million reasons for a friendship breakup. But maybe this particular breakup needed to happen. Maybe you had blind spots to glaring problems (we all have them from time to time). Whatever the cause, it's a painful thing, to be sure. But maybe it needed it to happen for your heart to flourish.
