Happy May, dearhearts!
This has been the kind of full-of-life, mad-but-magnificent month when two choices presented itself: Either keep my “These Are a Few of My Favorite Things” for May short and sweet or have no May list at all. Because I wanted to be a good friend by getting this list out to you, I’ve kept it brief. But the items I’ve included are no less awesome!
So, onward and upward!
These Are a Few of My Favorite Things
It Wasn’t Roaring, It Was Weeping by Lisa-Jo Baker: I haven’t enjoyed a memoir book as much as this one since I read Beth Moore’s. One glorious, glorious book that reads like fiction. I simply couldn’t put it down.
Hanging Toiletry Bag: I first learned about this from the Big Boo Cast, so I’ve included Sophie and Melanie’s link for it here in this article! I gave this as two grad gifts, and both were very well received!
Neutrogena Ultra Sheer Dry-Touch sunscreen: This sunscreen has GREAT coverage yet goes on light. At this time of year, I put it on my arms and neck each day–and on my face if I’m out of my typical face sunscreen.
Bridgerton: The costumes! The pageantry! The period drama! I’m a total fan of it all. But it’s also spicy, so this show ain’t for the children. I REPEAT: IT AIN’T FOR THE KIDS.
Kut from the Kloth High-Rise Cropped Jeans: These are made of THE softest denim, and they have the perfect amount of stretch. Comfy OH-SO. I kind of like the raw hem, too, which is in style right now.
Away Suitcase: We gave these to both our sons for graduation, and they loved them. They are pricy, but they are well constructed and well organized. I have a couple of friends who’ve had Away suitcases for years, and they hold up to frequent travel!
Artificial Flowers Hanging Basket: My friend, Aimée has these pretend flower baskets hanging under her pergola, and they completely fooled me! I thought they were real! 9 1/2 times out of ten I’ll choose real flowers over artificial ones, but sometimes you need the ease of artificial when real ones are tricky. (Hanging baskets are SUCH divas under the best of circumstances!)
Orzo Salad: My friend Sherri introduced me to this salad decades ago. My daughter requests it every summer, and it’s great for potlucks because it makes a TON. I usually add chicken or bacon to it so it’s heartier for the meatlovers in my family!
Olaplex Volumizing Blow Dry Mist: This is both a heat protectant and a volumizer that my hair dresser recommended, and I love it! Peri-menopause has not been kind to my hair, but this really does help give it some umph!
Dwell App: Last but definitely not least, this is my favorite Bible reading app. I listen to one of their Scripture readings + devotionals every evening before bed. I adore Dwell!
That’s all for today, folks! Have a most marvelous end of May!
Much love,
K
